Quality of Life

Our communities are vibrant and growing with a young population (average age 34) that embraces new and exciting challenges. Our local governments are pro-business and seek development, industry, and growth that best fits the culture and heritage of Southwest Wyoming.

The Rock Springs and Green River communities are the retail, cultural, educational, medical, and business center of Southwest Wyoming. Strategically located along the I-80 corridor and the Union Pacific Overland Route, Sweetwater County provides direct transportation access to anywhere in the country. Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport offers daily jet service to Denver International Airport with the ability to connect destinations with one-stop.

Western Wyoming Community College is ranked in the Top 10 of all Community Colleges in the country. Their specialized training to work programs are recognized nationally for best practices. WWCC has a unique relationship with our business and industry sectors, due to their pro-active approach in developing need-specific certification programs.

Rock Springs and Green River are blessed with 43 parks, a 27-hole public golf course, an 18-hole private course, and three Family Recreation and Aquatic Centers. While these facilities provide endless family fun and entertainment, Sweetwater County offers over 5 million acres of public lands where you can create your own outdoor adventures!
